Jane Algire is an expert on aging based on a combination of experience and education in the field of gerontology.
Her education includes:
- Bachelor of Science with a major in nutrition from the University of Guelph
- Diploma in Gerontology from St. Lawrence College (graduated with distinction)
- Certificate in long-term care senior management from the Canadian Health Care Association
Her experience includes eight years working as a program manager for a non-profit senior’s organization. It is there where she learned how the system works. It is also here where she saw the overwhelming burden on case managers and the need for a service that provides workable care plans and advocacy for seniors.
A lifelong learner, Jane regularly attends Gerontology conferences at McMaster University, the University of Waterloo and Baycrest, one of the world’s premier academic health sciences centers focused on aging in Toronto. These conferences provide Jane with the most current science, and the most up-to-date thinking about elder care.
